Welcome to my new blog!

I’ve had a website for 20 years, but recently decided to “get with the program” and do a massive update. Between a full teaching schedule, composing a musical (being currently produced by a professional company), and doing various performances and workshops, time has been at a premium. But when I doubled my space to add video to my voice studio, an updated website was crucial. I am shooting a number of instructional videos to help as many students from beginners to advanced… young to old (yes…the vocals muscles can be strengthened in older people. Just because you’ve lost it doesn’t mean you can’t find it again.
Adding the video option will give my students the ability to present quality presentations for “The Voice” (a former student is currently performing on that show!), among other musical shows and competitions that require a good video demo. I have been a long-time member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and recently N.A.T.S. is requiring video audition submissions for the new National Musical Theater Competition. The largest music publisher in the world is Hal Leonard. They now have a National Vocal Competition for young voices (up to 12 yrs), 13-15, 16-18, and college in classical and musical theatre. The deadline is at the end of January each year, so now is the time to act if you are interested in that.
